Becoming a member.
As part of our pastoral oversight, we encourage regular attendees to become members of the church. This helps us spiritually, discerning those who have chosen to come under our pastoral care, and administratively, to build infrastructure and manage the church well.
Whilst church membership is not explicitly mentioned in the bible, we clearly see that early believers were committed to local geographic churches. This is reflected in the epistles, such as letters sent out to the church in Corinth, Ephesus or Colossae for example. These letters were not sent to buildings, but to Christians who were regularly met together in these areas. Some are named in the letters and commended for their good words and commitment to the church (Romans 16:1-2; Acts 2:41-47; 6:1-6;
1 Corinthians 12:12-31).
If you have regularly attended Larnaca Community Church for six months or more, we recommend you consider becoming a member.
The process is simple. Watch the video above. Write down any questions that you have concerning the running of the church or our beliefs. Contact Pastor Dave to express your interest in membership.
Consider the following questions / statements relating to membership:
- Are you actively seeking to live to please Christ?
- Have you been baptised?
- Have you made commitments to any other Christian ministry or organisation?
- Responsibilities of members:
(a) The member accepts the church ordinances of believers’ baptism and the Lord’s supper.
(b) The member shares in regular church attendance and corporate worship.
(c) The member prays for the church.
(d) The member supports the church financially through tithes and offerings.
(e) The member has an obligation to attend all members’ meetings.
(f) The member is involved in the ministry of the church to the degree that God has blessed him/her with spiritual gifts and talents.
